It took 18 months of living in our new neighborhood to finally (fine-ally!) discover our favorite supermarket: Fine Fare. We tried every grocery store in a half-mile radius, but found no other food store that beats Fine Fare’s low prices. If you live in the metropolitan areas of New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania, there may be a Fine Fare market near you. If you don’t live in these areas, just check out the online circular. See how your local supermarket compares.
We literally stumbled onto Fine Fare. On a chilly November afternoon, we just happened to find some print circulars scattered on the sidewalk and decided to try our luck in the store. Finding an 18-ounce box of Parade Corn Flakes on sale for $1.59 — and plenty of other cheap deals — we were hooked. Kat and I left the store shouting a cry of victory, lugging home three bags of groceries that cost a total of 21 bucks.
These past 18 months have been a bumpy ride on the Recession Roller-Coaster. Like most New Yorkers, we were standing at the epicenter of last year’s economic crisis. Fortunately, we’ve always known that smart grocery shopping helps to improve our financial situation.
So, here’s our shout-out: thanks Fine Fare! You’re a pal to the impoverished, a buddy to budgets, a friend to the frugal — and a partner on the road to recovery.
