I highly recommend Groupon, a site that offers big discounts on concert tickets, museum admissions, restaurants, gourmet groceries, classes and spa treatments (yes!) in 35 cities across the country.
How does it work? Groupon arranges discounts with service providers by promising them a certain number of buyers for their deals. Groupon posts one deal per day on Groupon.com and users are encouraged to invite their friends, through Facebook, Twitter, etc., to check out the deal. The more people who buy, the more and better deals Groupon can offer in the future.
As a bonus, you can refer a friend and receive a $10 credit to your Groupon account — which you can use to buy Groupon deals — when he or she makes a first purchase.
They call it “collective buying power” — I call it awesome.
