The stuff always seems to go flat after a few drinks, and I’m left with a giant plastic bottle that I suspect will end up floating onto a pristine beach in Cozumel. That’s [...]  I don’t know about you, but during the springtime I get slammed with gift-giving obligations, which often require gift wrapping supplies. Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, showers, weddings … it’s too much! Special occasions like these sneak up on me every year. The crazy gift-giving could get out-of-control expensive, if I didn’t avoid [...] Getting there! In our last fire escape garden episode, my arugula, Swiss chard, bell pepper, basil and parsley seedlings were thriving in their egg carton seed trays, basking in the glow of their full-spectrum T5 grow light on top of the fridge. And now, the next step in Metro Cheapo’s organic container gardening series: Step [...] Reusable water bottles: the hottest thing in eco friendly living. We often investigate the connection between eco friendly living and the Metro Cheapo lifestyle. It’s what we do. For example, Shannon and I attended the recent Go Green Expo in Manhattan (with discounted tickets, of course – thanks Groupon!)
